Jena joined Wise Scheible Barkauskas as an associate in 2016, moving from the renowned law firm of Taylor McCaffrey LLP in Winnipeg, Manitoba. During her time there, Jena practiced exclusively in the area of family law and co-coached the 2016 Walsh Family Law Moot Team through the University of Manitoba.

In addition to being a lawyer, Jena also has a Bachelor's of Social Work, and brings a unique skill set to the resolution of family law disputes. Jena is an active proponent of seeking a fair settlement as a priority, and will work with her clients to determine what best meets their needs and goals. Jena works with and on behalf of her clients to reach an amicable and expeditious resolution to their legal matters, and aims to reduce the conflict that spouses and families encounter while going through a separation and divorce.

Jena received her Juris Doctor from the University of Manitoba and was called to the Manitoba and Alberta bars in 2016. In law school, Jena was passionate about her volunteer work at the Legal Help Centre of Winnipeg, a not-for-profit organization that assists disadvantaged members of the Winnipeg community to access and exercise their legal and social rights. In 2015, she was nominated by her peers and selected by the Legal Help Centre of Winnipeg to receive the Kim Clare Award for Access to Justice.

Jena also practices in the area of reproductive and fertility law, assisting families with third party assisted reproductive technologies including donor sperm, donor egg, traditional and gestational surrogacy, as well as private and spousal adoptions.

While practicing in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Jena gained experience in the area of reproductive and fertility law, as well as adoption law. She has assisted individuals and couples- both internationally and locally - become parents, and takes great care in working with her clients during the process. In 2016, Jena acted as co-counsel in the first contested and reported adoption case in Manitoba since 1994.

Drawing on her previous experience and her Bachelors of Social Work, Jena understands the emotional and financial resources that clients have spent trying to create their family before turning to adoption or surrogacy. She is committed to working with clients to meet their unique needs, and will work diligently and effectively to assist them in creating their families.
